A Legacy of Caring for Omaha Families
Hoover Dental began in 1961 when Dr. David E. Hoover opened his office with a simple mission: to provide compassionate, honest dental care to the community he loved. In 1973, the practice moved to its current Blondo Street location, where it became a trusted neighborhood presence.
Many patients first visited us decades ago and now bring their children and grandchildren to the same office. That loyalty is one of the greatest honors of our work.
Continuing a Family Tradition
In 1994, Dr. Michael J. Hoover joined the practice and worked alongside his father for many years. After graduating from Creighton University and the Creighton School of Dentistry, he returned to serve the community he knows so well.
Dr. David Hoover retired in 2018, leaving behind a legacy of excellent care and strong patient relationships. Today, Dr. Michael Hoover proudly leads the practice and continues the family tradition of putting patients first.

Dr. Michael J. Hoover
Dentist and Practice Owner
Dr. Michael J. Hoover brings decades of experience and a patient-centered philosophy to Hoover Dental. As a dedicated general dentist, he coordinates comprehensive and conservative care tailored to each patient’s individual needs. By combining advanced dental technology with high-quality products and personalized treatment planning, Dr. Hoover helps patients achieve lasting oral health and confident smiles.
Born and raised in Omaha, Dr. Hoover is a proud graduate of St. Robert’s Elementary School, Creighton Preparatory School, Creighton University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1988, and Creighton School of Dentistry, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1993. Following dental school, he completed a one-year residency at UNMC/VA before entering private practice in 1994. From 1994 to 2000, he also served as an adjunct clinical instructor at Creighton School of Dentistry, helping educate future dental professionals.
Dr. Hoover values the relationships he has built with generations of patients at Hoover Dental. He appreciates the trust patients place in the practice and takes pride in providing compassionate, attentive care. Together with his team, he strives to create an environment where patients feel heard, supported, and confident in their dental health journey.
He began his career in dentistry in 1993, joined Hoover Dental in 1994, and became the owner of the practice in 2011. His passion for dentistry is rooted in a strong belief in serving others. Dr. Hoover considers dentistry both a profession and a calling, and he is grateful for the opportunity to positively impact patients’ lives through quality care and teamwork.
Outside the office, Dr. Hoover enjoys cheering on the Creighton Bluejays, tending to the Hoover Dental gardens, and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Sarah Osborne
Dentist
Dr. Sarah Osborne is a dedicated dentist at Hoover Dental who is passionate about helping patients restore their smiles while building lasting relationships with the families she serves. She values being part of a supportive team that works together to provide the highest level of care for their community.
Dr. Osborne earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from University of the Pacific and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Scripps College. She was drawn to dentistry because it uniquely combines medicine, engineering, artistry, and hands-on problem solving, while also allowing her to connect personally with patients every day.
Outside of the office, Dr. Osborne enjoys trivia and game nights, traveling, reading, hiking, skiing, exploring new restaurants, and cheering on the San Jose Sharks. One of her favorite hobbies is participating in a weekly trivia team with friends, a tradition they have kept going since 2021.
A fun fact many people may not know about Dr. Osborne is that she has both bungee jumped into and white water rafted the Nile River!
Our Dental Hygiene Team
Our dental hygiene team at Hoover Dental consists of Melissa, Shelby, Sammy, and Brooke. Dedicated to providing personalized care, the team works closely with each patient to develop treatment and preventive care plans tailored to their individual oral health needs. Their compassionate approach, attention to detail, and commitment to patient education help create a comfortable experience while supporting long-term dental health and wellness.
Our Dental Assistant Team
Our dental assistant team at Hoover Dental includes Nancy, Tiffany, Savannah, and Tracy. Working together to support both patients and providers, the team plays an essential role in delivering efficient, high-quality dental care and creating a welcoming experience for every patient. Tiffany also serves as the Clinical Manager, helping oversee clinical operations and ensuring the team maintains the highest standards of patient care and professionalism.
Our Administrative Team
Our administrative team at Hoover Dental is dedicated to ensuring every patient experience is smooth, welcoming, and efficient from the first phone call through check-out. The front desk team includes Tyrel, who serves as our scheduler and insurance coordinator, along with Jinny and Regina, who assist patients with check-in and check-out. Supporting the practice behind the scenes are Denise and Denise, whose administrative work helps keep daily operations running seamlessly. The team is led by Bailey, our administrative office manager, who oversees office coordination and patient support services. Together, the administrative staff is committed to providing exceptional service and helping patients feel comfortable and cared for throughout every visit.
Dr Hoover has taken such good care of us over the years! When I was looking for a dentist years ago I asked my primary care doc for a recommendation and he said “Have I got a recommendation for you, Dr Hoover is absolutely the best.” He was so right! Dr H is so caring and patient and makes going to the dentist pleasant and I’ve had some major dental work done throughout the years and it has been pain free. Thank you for all you do, Dr Hoover!
